Don’t you just love how incredibly versatile tarot is? The same can be said about intuition, but sometimes it’s just easier to access when you use tarot as a tool to do so.

Tarot for Planning

Ever need to plan an event and have no idea where to start? Tarot can help with that. Whether it be a vacation, reunion, wedding, or birthday party, having an idea of what you’re going to do and when you’re going to do it makes the whole thing a lot less stressful for many of us.

Creating a solid plan or timeline with tarot help put your mind at ease. It’s also a great tool for those with social anxiety who may not be so excited about the crowded spaces, often present during large and sometimes even small events. Maybe you’re a parent who’s child just really wants to invite the entire class to their birthday party, or perhaps you are the introverted friend who was asked to be the bridesmaid at the wedding of two over the top extroverts. Tarot can help make you feel more prepared for the event ahead, and help you decide if it’s even worth going.

So, how do you use tarot for that?

Using Tarot to Plan an Event

If you’re overwhelmed by event planning, start by consciously choosing a card that will represent what vibe you want to be present at the event. Now take that card and sit in in front of you. Why did you choose that card? What energy from the card drew you to it?

Say you are planning a wedding. You may want to choose the Lovers or the Two of Cups. If you’re planning a birthday party, the Four of Wands might be nice. The Six of Pentacles might be appropriate for a fundraiser or charity event, the Empress for a baby shower, and the Ten of Cups for vacation vibes.

After taking some time to get acquainted with your card, grab yourself a pen and piece of paper and start writing down all the possible activities your chosen card makes you think of. Close your eyes and picture what the people in the card must be doing or thinking. What activities do you want to incorporate into your event while keeping your chosen card in mind?

With your list of possibilities in hand, narrow them down by simply choosing your favorite, asking your tarot deck what the potential outcome of each activity will be, or asking what vibe will be present during each activity.

Once you have a good idea of what you want the event to look like, try this tarot spread to get more details. If the overall outcome for your event isn’t quite what you’d hoped and something just feels off, you can ask more questions and problem solve until you feel good about the outcome.

You may be a natural event planner and think this is a bit over the top. That’s amazing! But not all of us are. Sometimes all we need is a little creative nudge to get us thinking, and that’s why using tarot for planning is so helpful. It’s the little push we need to light the fuse that ignites our creativity. It also helps keep us grounded and rational with our ideas.

It can even help take your anxiety down a few notches, if you’re hesitant to go to someone else’s event. Being able to ask questions about how it may go beforehand is invaluable. Nothing wrong with being prepared.
