Mandrake Root is used in magick and witchcraft for protection, fertility, and prosperity. In the Bible, Rachel trades her sister Leah a night with Rachel’s husband in exchange for Leah’s mandrakes so she can conceive. Carried, it is thought to attract love and prevent illness.
In Greek Mythology, Circe and Aphrodite used it as an aphrodisiac. It has a history of being used for exorcisms as it was said to repel demons. Used as poison, do not ingest or burn.
USES: Use as a poppet or to stuff poppets, carry in a mojo bag, place on mantle for protection, place under pillow to promote fertility, use to dress spell candles, or as a casting herb.
